Cottage Description
Modern 1BR 1 BA Unit with Large Rooms, Private Patio and Beautiful Lake Frontage
Built in 1980, this unit sits beneath several mature maple trees and is adjacent to the “fire lane”, an access lane from the road, owned by the county, for the event fire trucks would need to pump from the lake. (Our family has been here since 1957 and I know of no time it was ever used by a fire truck. It was used once by a large wrecker responding to a guy that tried to drive across the lake one New Year’s Day. He didn’t make it.)
There is a sandbar where the lake meets the lot. A railroad tie retaining wall separates the lake from the lawn. It is about ankle deep at the wall. It is about knee deep at the end of the 32 foot dock. The shallow water remains quite warm. The swimming raft in front of the fire lane is about 120 feet from shore. It’s 5 feet deep at the ladder and 7 feet deep on the other side.
It has approximately 650 square feet of living space with an attached garage and laundry area. The kitchen is large with a work island in the center. The bathroom has a combination tub and shower. The bedroom has one double and two twin beds as well as a gueen sofa bed. It has spacious closets. There is also queen sofabed in the living room. There is a free standing fireplace in the living room that looks nice but is rarely used. The finished concrete patio is about 150 square feet, faces the lake and is shaded much of the day.
The structure sits on its own lot but is attached to a larger house by a common breezeway . The units share the laundry area/breezeway but each has it’s own entry doors, water heaters, garage and plumbing. The other unit generally rents to families.
The kitchen has all kitchenware, linens, a garbage disposer, coffee maker, cable TV, microwave and conventional ovens.
The bedroom has pillows, blankets and linens.
The carpeted living room has cable TV.
The unit shares telephone service, the washer and dryer, the dock, paddle and row boats.
There is central heat, just in case someplace freezes over.
